Fishing the Kenai river is awe-inspiring for even the most well traveled angler. Unlike other rivers, the Kenai boasts a beautiful turquoise color. This magnificent color is brought on by glacial flour deposited from the many glaciers that feed her. While floating the Kenai's pristine waters in pursuit of fish, you will also have the chance to see wildlife including bald eagles, brown bear, moose, beaver, black bear, and many species of waterfowl.
The Kenai is famous for large salmon runs, dolly varden, and especially its trophy rainbows. The best times to try for trophy rainbow are early spring (Late March and April) and the fall (Mid Aug-Oct). The Kenai river is open to fishing June 11th-April 30th, and we make daily trips all summer long. If you are staying in Seward, Soldotna, Sterling, Kenai or even Anchorage you are just one scenic drive away from an amazing experience. Waders are not needed for our Kenai River trips, unless you want to catch sockeye salmon, we do offer daily hip boots for rental on our reservations tab.
